Kindred Spirits Orchestra has announced its 2010.2011 season. Highlights feature internationally renowned violinist Jacques Israelievitch, guest pianist Ivan Evtimoff and soprano Helena Holl. Stratford Summer Music - 10th Anniversary Season
Stratford Summer Music celebrates its 10th anniversary with 100 concerts/events over five weeks in the churches, the Avon River parkland, the restaurants, even the downtown streets of this city dubbed Canada’s Summer Cultural Capital.

Westben - Concerts at The Barn - 11th Season
Westben – Concerts at The Barn celebrates its 11th season of presenting the best of Canadian and world-class music in the idyllic countryside setting of Ontario's Northumberland County, from June 11th to August 8, 2010. This “Season of Discovery” opens with the world premiere of Artistic Director Brian Finley and collaborator Ken Tizzard’s musical, “The Selfish Giant”. The Festival continues with a wide spectrum of the world's finest music, including opera, Broadway, jazz and world music.
Highlights include Mozart's opera "The Magic Flute" featuring the UBC Opera Ensemble, "Bach Unaccompanied Suites for Cello" featuring Brian Manker, principal cellist for the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, an afternoon of Chopin %26 Schumann music, a new show entitled "Shakespeare's Women", a celebration of favourite female characters from the world of Shakespeare in verse and in song featuring Chick Reid, actor %26 Donna Bennett, soprano, a solo piano concert featuring Robert Silverman, Saturday Night at the Opera with international star Adrienne Pieczonka, the very popular Barnful of Broadway matinees and “Jazz Out of This World concerts”. The summer season closes on Aug 8 with the Finale Fundraiser featuring special guest Michael Burgess.

Brott Music Festival Celebrates Its 23rd Season
Brott Music Festival will celebrate its 23rd season as Canada’s largest orchestral music festival and runs June 16 to August 20. 2010 guest artists include Jan Lisiecki, Veronica Tennant, Jonathan Crow, Denise Djokic, John Fanning, Valerie Tryon, Peter Appleyard, Alexei Gulenco and guest conductor Brian Jackson . Founded by charismatic maestro Boris Brott in 1988, it features classical, jazz, recital, pops and education concerts in Hamilton, Burlington, Muskoka and Toronto. Its orchestra-in-residence is the National Academy Orchestra, Canada’s only professional training orchestra, made up of young music graduates who are paired with professionals, both on and off-stage. Winner of the Korean National Piano Competition, Hyuntak Lee makes his Glenn Gould Studio debut with Mozart's enigmatic piano concerto No. 23. Maestro Alexander leads Kindred Spirits Orchestra in Beethoven's gentle and placid Fourth Symphony that prompted Berlioz to comment: "the being who wrote such a marvel of inspiration... was not human".

2010 marks the fifth annual Toronto Summer Music Festival and Artistic Director Agnes Grossmann is delighted to unveil her plans for this year’s edition devoted to the theme Songs of the Earth. The Festival takes place in downtown Toronto from July 20 to August 14 and features an array of Canadian and international stars including Matthias Goerne, Andreas Haefliger, Anton Kuerti, Menahem Pressler, Connie Shih and Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi; top flight international chamber ensembles the Pacifica String Quartet, the Vienna Piano Trio, the Gryphon Trio and the Penderecki String Quartet; and four imaginative concert programmes that combine music with an added dimension: theatre, music and dance. Landmark anniversaries of composers Schumann, Chopin and Mahler will be celebrated in concert programmes throughout the four-week Festival, which includes the world-premiere of a new Mahler-inspired work by Glenn Buhr.
The Festival features a series of 13 concerts, five public master classes and many free activities including pre-concert talks and emerging artist concerts.

Festival of the Sound - July 16 to August 8
Festival of the Sound will take the plunge into its fourth decade from July 16 to August 8, 2010. In a season of firsts for the Festival, larger scale productions such as Bach’s Mass in B minor, a Beethoven Symphony, and Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance will be presented. While honouring the past thirty years with the return of Festival favourites, this summer’s programming looks toward the future of chamber music with a new generation of young musicians. Jan Lisiecki and Frederieke Saeijs, as well as 2010 RBC Stockey Young Artists Adam György and the Afiara String Quartet will be appearing. Over 50 concerts and special musical events will be offered at a variety of venues such as the Island Queen and M.V. Chippewa cruise ships, the West Parry Sound District Museum, and the Ridge at Manitou. The Festival’s main performance venue, the Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts, is located right on the Parry Sound waterfront, marrying beautiful music and a spectacular setting.

Stratford Summer Music
Stratford Summer Music celebrates its tenth season from July 19 to August 22 with 100 concerts and events, including a six-part “Portrait of Ben Heppner” which the Toronto Star calls the Must-See music event of the entire summer.
Hundreds of Canadian and international musicians and a dozen musical genres bring life to this special anniversary season. Masterpieces by Bach, Chopin and Mozart, plus great operatic repertoire and a bouquet of Canadian works during Organ Week highlight the classical programming in three downtown churches. An outdoor environmental opera and 29 free concerts beside the Avon River enliven the city centre. Canadian jazz legends, after-theatre cabarets, cello suites played on a rare 1707 Italian instrument, even a Cappuccino Cantata at Balzac’s are the programs in four of the city’s finest restaurants.
